MANDATORY CE COURSES:
HURRICANE MITIGATION
The Florida Department of Financial Services now requires all Property and Casualty agents complete a one hour course on “Hurricane Mitigation” every compliance period. This requirement must be satisfied by all agents with a compliance period of January 31, 2009 and after. FISCE will offer this course in our 2008 class schedule. Look for the course topic of FLOOD/MITIGATION. More information can be found at http://www.agents-florida.com/ and click on Hot Topics.
FLOOD INSURANCE:
All agents that write Flood Insurance are required to take an approved 3 hour CE course on “Flood Insurance” with certain minimum course requirements. This is not a requirement of DFS, but of FEMA. All servicing carriers are subject to audit to verify that the agents they receive applications from have completed this approved course. FISCE will offer this course in our 2008 schedule. Look for the course topic of FLOOD/MITIGATION.
ETHICS:
Many of you are already aware that DFS requires all licensees to complete an approved CE course on “Ethics.” Agents must complete 3 hours of CE each compliance period and Adjusters must complete 2 hours. These courses will be offered in our 2008 schedule. For those of you that worry about the “three year no repeat rule,” fret not…we file a new course each year.
