Florida Insurance School has been a leader in insurance education for over 60 years. We have worked very hard to establish a reputation for quality insurance education in both pre-licensing and continuing education classes. We currently offer approximately 50 courses each month statewide. Our goal from the very beginning of the company was to offer current, relevant, and accurate insurance information that is reasonable in terms of time and cost.
Over the last few years we have seen a troubling trend which we feel is only going to get worse. Insurance companies, in an effort to remain profitable, have reduced or completely eliminated their education and/or information flow to their agents. In addition, agent’s commissions have continued to decline while expenses continue to rise. This puts a great deal of pressure on the retail agent to produce more and more premium volume in order to maintain the previous year’s income. This leaves the retail insurance agent in a quandary: where do you go to get accurate information that is relevant to the job? Who can keep the agent up to date with critical changes that are going on right now?
Florida Insurance School has created the Insurance Research and Education Associates, Inc. which is an insurance education information service. This information service will give agents the one thing we all look for …TIME. The contacts we have developed nationally, as well as here in Florida, allow us access to the changes going on in our industry. We plan to offer this information to our Florida Insurance School clients.
This is what we will provide:
-
A bi-monthly publication which will contain:
- Articles on recent coverage changes. For example: We have introduced many articles on recent changes to the CGL, Commercial Property, Crime, Business Auto, Homeowners, and Personal Auto Coverage Forms. As policy forms change we will write articles on how the changes will impact your organization.
- Summaries of the most current court cases with explanations on how they may affect the insurance agent. Many insurance contracts are defined by what happens in Court. We feel you need access to this information.
- An E&O article in each issue written by Jim Harrison, who is one of the leading national authorities on this subject. Jim will give you practical information you can use in your agencies to control this ever-increasing problem.
- Answers to coverage questions commonly asked by agents and students. If agents are asking us questions with any degree of regularity, then all agents should have this information.
- Miscellaneous articles written by experts nationwide in their given field. Articles will cover topics such as Risk Management, Employment Related Practices, Dynamics of Selling, Workers’ Compensation, etc.
- Sales and E&O support such as checklists (personal and commercial) and coverage explanation charts to use with your clients. This will not only speed up your sales time, but also provide a more thorough presentation as well as documentation for your file which may assist in controlling potential E&O claims.

Questions and Answers by e-mail:
We will provide an exclusive e-mail address just for you. You can write us with questions or comments you may have. Obviously we cannot become a complete consulting service for the subscription price; however, let us be the judge of that. Send us your questions, and we will do the research and get back to you with an answer.

Consolidation of Information for your agency:
We currently subscribe to over 15 insurance industry periodicals. We currently review each one and pass information on to our instructors. Now we will simply be condensing this information into an easy to read format so you can have the highlights. Our hope is that this saves valuable time, which can be better spent on other agency functions.
