How to Check Your Florida Insurance CE Credits (A Guide for Licensed Agents)

If you’re a licensed insurance agent or adjuster in Florida, staying on top of your continuing education (CE) is essential. Florida law requires most insurance professionals to complete a specific number of CE hours every two years to maintain their licenses and comply with state regulations. The good news is the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) makes it easy for licensees to check their CE progress online.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to accessing your CE credits and staying compliant.

1. Know Where Your CE Info Lives: The DFS MyProfile Portal

The official hub for CE information is MyProfile, the online licensing system managed by the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS). This portal allows you to:

  • View your license status and renewal date
  • See your continuing education transcript
  • Track completed CE hours
  • Check for deficiencies or missing credits

To begin, go to the DFS MyProfile portal. dice.fldfs.com+1

2. Log In to MyProfile

Once you’re on the DFS MyProfile page:

  1. Sign in with your username and password
  2. If you don’t already have an account, click Create Account and follow the setup prompts.
  3. Once logged in, navigate to the section labeled something like CE StatusTranscript, or Continuing Education

This is where the DFS displays all of your reported CE credits and hours earned.

3. Review Your CE Transcript

In your transcript view, you’ll see:

  • Course names
  • Date of completion
  • Hours earned
  • Whether your CE contributions satisfy your current compliance period

Review this information carefully to make sure everything is reported accurately. It’s a good idea to log in at least a few times during your renewal cycle — rather than waiting until the deadline — so you catch any missing or misreported credits early.

4. What If Something Is Missing?

If a course you completed doesn’t show up:

  • First confirm the provider reported the course to DFS. Reporting timelines can vary by provider but should generally occur soon after completion.
  • If credits still aren’t showing after a reasonable amount of time, contact the course provider or the DFS Licensing Services for help.

The DFS agent licensing team can often be reached via email at AgentLicensing@MyFloridaCFO.com if you need direct assistance.

5. Important Compliance Reminders

  • Most Florida insurance licenses require a certain number of CE hours every two years.
  • A portion of your hours may need to include specific topics, such as law and ethics.
  • CE deadlines are typically based on your birth month.

Failing to complete required CE on time can lead to penalties or license issues, so keeping an eye on your transcript is a smart part of professional compliance.

6. Final Tip: Check Early and Often

Agents and adjusters are strongly encouraged to check their CE status well before renewal deadlines. Regularly reviewing your transcript — and resolving issues early — helps avoid last-minute surprises and ensures you stay in good standing with the Florida Department of Financial Services.
